FAMILY KARATE CENTER KY. was established in January 2008 by Grand Master Anthony (Tony) Sandoval, "The Father of America's Hakutsuru" and Sensei Craig Mattingly, as a means to teach Shorin-Ryu Karate and Hakutsuru (White Crane).
All classes are currently taught by Sensei Mattingly, a student of 10th Dan Sensei Tony Sandoval. Both Sandoval and Mattingly are Internationally Recognized Martial Artists and Instructors, and both are Universal Martial Arts Hall of Fame Inductees.
Sandoval is a retired Marine and a World Renowned Martial Artist and Instructor. His Awards and accomplishments are too many to mention and would not fit into the confines of these pages. Most importantly, he is a very good man.
Mattingly was awarded the Universal Martial Arts Hall of Fame Instructor of the Year Award for 2009.
